Since I myself is going to be entering university soon, I’d like to fairly share some tips on how to get yourself prepared for entry. A lot of people might get a shock on entry as life in university is a lot less spoon-fed and you are mostly left to find, research and learn in your own.
Ensure you have a look at your university website for important updates on the procedures required for freshmen. Do also read on the syllabus for the course ssru, and try to have an idea of the what the topics are about. Some universities provide prep courses for students to read up before term starts. If these are available, don’t miss out on to be able to equip yourself with some knowledge before entering university. As lecturers in the university aren’t planning to spoon-feed you with information, you will see these prep course very useful in assisting you know what is taught during lectures.
If you have the chance, travel to your university campus and have a tour of the environment, simply to familiarise yourself. Record the time taken for travel so that you can plan your trips when term starts so as to not be late. Personal alarms might be useful if classes end late in the night whilst the campus may be dark and quiet, and therefore dangerous.
Not forgetting the fun part of planning to university, you can search for new clothes, bags, stationery, etc. so that you look great and feel confident when stepping into unfamiliar surroundings. Make the most of the sales to really get your equipment as the price of these materials can definitely pile up.
